NWSG Seed Drill Availability

NWSG Seed Drill Availability

Many areas could do more native warm season grass promotion if a seed drill was available. Some NRCS offices are partnering with local SWCDs to purchase seed drills and there may be other opportunities through NGOs, garden clubs, etc. Grant funds can sometimes be used for equipment purchases. If lack of seed drills is a major impediment then reach out to WLFW and partners for help!

Southeast (SE) FireMap Overview

Southeast (SE) FireMap Overview

Holly Nowell, director of the Smoke Science Program at Tall Timbers introduces The Southeast FireMap as a project developed to address the critical need for tracking fire patterns across southeastern U.S. lands, where fire is essential for ecosystem health and fire-dependent species. This video walks through phase one of the project and details the findings that Landsat burned area products would be most suitable for creating a comprehensive fire mapping system, which will help quantify the value and track the implementation of prescribed burning practices that are common but poorly documented across the Southeast.
