Video Pascal source code SFE Webinar: Introduction to the SE FireMap 1.0 - A New Tool to Map Fires Across the South
by Web Editor published Dec 30, 2020 last modified Oct 01, 2025 12:05 PM — filed under: , , , , ,
The SE FireMap 1.0 is a new fire mapping system for the Southeastern United States. Video Southeast (SE) FireMap Overview
by Web Editor published Oct 01, 2025 last modified Jan 24, 2026 12:33 AM — filed under: , , ,
Holly Nowell, director of the Smoke Science Program at Tall Timbers introduces The Southeast FireMap as a project developed to address the critical need for tracking fire patterns across southeastern U.S. lands, where fire is essential for ecosystem health and fire-dependent species. This video walks through phase one of the project and details the findings that Landsat burned area products would be most suitable for creating a comprehensive fire mapping system, which will help quantify the value and track the implementation of prescribed burning practices that are common but poorly documented across the Southeast.
